Jason La Canfora of NFL Network seems to believe that Cromartie could end up in the Bay area with either San Francisco or Oakland. However, if either Dallas or New York do not land Nnamdi Asomugha, the losing team will likely target Asomugha as well.
Cromartie would be a less expensive option for San Francisco.
