According to Ray Ratto of the San Francisco Chronicle, Seattle Seahawks vice president Mike Reinfeldt is about to turn down the job of San Francisco 49ers president. It is a job that could pay Reinfeldt two times his current salary.

The team has been looking for a "football guy" to fill the newly created position at the request of head coach Mike Nolan. Other than Reinfeldt, the team has already discussed the position with Atlanta Falcons executive vice president Ray Anderson, St. Louis Rams executive vice-president Bob Wallace as well as former Broncos and Cardinals general manager Bob Ferguson. However, Reinfeldt was believed to be the team's top candidate.
