According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, St. Louis Rams executive vice president, Bob Wallace, is in the mix for the president position with the San Francisco 49ers. It is reported that Wallace had an "unofficial" meeting last month with team owner John York.

When asked about the 49ers job on Friday, Wallace declined to comment.

Plummer expected to be released

According to Sportsline.com, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Ahmed Plummer is expected to be released to save $1 million in cap space. Plummer missed the final 13 games of the 2005 season after undergoing a minor surgery to remove bone chips.
