Numerous sources (including the Philadelphia Daily News, Buffalo News and The News Journal), indicate that Philadelphia and Houston are at the top of Moulds’ wish list. Both the Eagles and the Texans have shown interest in the receiver.
"Every time I mention Philadelphia, Eric's ears perk up," said Greg Johnson, who represents the 32-year-old Bills wide receiver along with his partner, Harry Henderson. "He wants to go to Philadelphia. He really feels he could help them. He loves the idea of being an Eagle and playing with Donovan [McNabb]."
Johnson said Moulds has spoken recently with McNabb. The two have been friends for 5 or 6 years.
Moulds interest in the Eagles appears to be stronger than the Eagles interest in Moulds. While the Eagles have expressed interest in Moulds, they have no desire to overpay to acquire his services.
In fact, while San Francisco has shown interest in him, the 49ers are not on the top 5 of Moulds’ wish list. The other teams on that wish list are the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos. New England may be unlikely since they are a division rival. However, it is obvious that Moulds has a desire to go to a winning team.
While Moulds may be hoping to play in Philadelphia, the Houston Texans may be the team most willing to trade for Moulds. The Texans may not be a winning team (2-14 record in 2005), but Houston is close to Moulds' native Mississippi, which would allow his family to see him play more often.
Moulds is scheduled to make $7.1 million next season. But because of bonuses factored in over the length of his contract, he is to count about $10.85 million against the Bills’ salary cap. He is looking for a contract similar to the one Isaac Bruce signed 2 weeks ago with the St. Louis Rams.
Moulds was ranked #9 in SI.com's 2005 Top 10 Receivers list.
