Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun has reported that the Baltimore Ravens have traded Anquan Boldin to the San Francisco 49ers for a sixth-round pick.
Boldin, who was drafted in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft, has played seven seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and the past three seasons with the Ravens. Last season, he had 65 catches for 921 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Boldin may be a solid compliment to wide receiver Michael Crabtree and yet another target for your quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Boldin is 1 of 17 players in NFL history with at least 10,000 yards receiving in his 1st 10 seasons.
Doug Farrar of Yahoo! Sports spoke to Ray Rice on Monday morning. Rice said that outside of quarterback Joe Flacco, Boldin might have been the team's MVP last season.
Regarding the trade, Kaepernick told Trey Wingo on NFL Live, "If that's a true statement and that's going to happen, that's another great weapon for our offense, another great weapon for our team, and he'd be a great contributor." He went on to say, "We have great receivers already, but he's another great addition. I think everybody saw what he's capable of this past year, what he did in the Super Bowl, so that's just another playmaker on our team."
Boldin will be 33 years old in October. Last month, he said that, rather than playing for another team, he would retire if the Ravens were to release him.
Boldin is scheduled to make $6 million in 2013, the final season of the four-year, $28 million deal he signed with the Ravens in 2010.
