Today, the San Francisco 49ers kick off their 2013 preseason, their final one at Candlestick Park, by hosting the Denver Broncos. In 2012, the 49ers beat the Broncos 29-24 in their preseason meeting at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver.

2013 marks the first time that Colin Kaepernick begins the season as the 49ers' starting quarterback. However, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh, he will not play long today. Harbaugh said that Kaepernick would play just one or two series against the Broncos. Linebacker Patrick Willis will likely miss the entire preseason with a fractured hand. Harbaugh said that other veterans like running back Frank Gore and defensive lineman Justin Smith may also miss the 49ers' game against the Broncos. An interesting position to watch might be wide receiver, where many players like A.J. Jenkins, Kyle Williams and others are battling for the spot opposite Anquan Boldin.

The game kicks off at 6:00 PM PT and, as usual, you can visit 49erswebzone.com for the latest news and updates during and after the game.
