Bowman has been recovering from a torn ACL and MCL that he suffered in last season's NFC Championship game in Seattle.
Yesterday, an MRI revealed that Bowman's knee looked fine. However, he has still experienced pain which has stalled the decision to activate him and allow him to start practicing.
The 49ers have until Tuesday, November 18th to clear Bowman or he will be lost for the season.
The 49ers have been struck hard by injuries and were hoping for Bowman, one of the league's best linebackers, to return to form and contribute before the end of the season. The team has already lost linebacker Patrick Willis, who opted to have surgery on a muscle strain in the big toe on his left foot, ending his season.
