According to ProFootballTalk.com's Rumor Mill, 49ers head coach Mike Nolan may bring in former Jets and Lions defensive coordinator Donnie Henderson to San Francisco.

Henderson served as defensive backs coach in Baltimore, when Nolan worked there as defensive coordinator. Lions coach Rod Marinelli parted ways with Henderson on Tuesday, and has hired Marinellli's son-in-law, former Bucs linebackers coach Joe Barry, to replace him.

Early speculation is that assistant head coach Mike Singletary will become the 49ers new defensive coordinator. But ProFootballTalk.com feels that it would make more sense to bring in a separate guy to serve as defensive coordinator since Singletary may be targeted for a head coaching job in a year, if not sooner.
