In addition to the decline of the team, one of the reasons given was the fact that they team no longer offers physical tickets to their season ticket holders. In the past, many fans had held onto the tickets as souvenirs and simply used print outs to enter the game.
What is interesting about the article is that it states that, according to representatives from the team, out of approximately 20,000 season ticket accounts, only 100 have asked for a return to printed tickets. That seems like an oddly tiny number considering we have heard complaints about online only tickets as well.
What do you think? Are you ok with the fact that the 49ers dumped physical tickets altogether? Or do you wish that they offered physical tickets in addition to online ones?
