San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick connected deep with WR Torrey Smith for a 76-yard touchdown on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens giving the 49ers a 13-3 lead in the second quarter. It was the type of deep play that fans had hoped to see all season long from their quarterback and the new receiver signed during the offseason.
The 49ers would go into halftime with a 16-6 lead and go on to beat the Ravens 25-20.

QB Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense had a chance to win it late with just over a minute left in the game, but the drive came up short when 49ers S Eric Reid batted down a pass in the end zone.

Smith, along with WR Anquan Boldin, were playing against their former team for the first time during the regular season. Smith would finish the game with 96 yards on three catches and a touchdown. Boldin also had a big game with five catches for 102 yards.

Kaepernick would finish the game with 340 passing yards, his most in a game this season. He completed 16 of his 27 passes and threw two touchdowns with no interceptions. One of those scoring passes was the already mentioned completion to Smith, while the other was hauled in by WR Quinton Patton when former 49ers CB Shareece Wright fell, leaving Patton all alone in the end zone. Smith's touchdown was also against Wright.

FB Bruce Miller also had a big day with 89 yards on three receptions. His longest was a 52-yard reception in the first quarter.

Flacco was intercepted two times. One was by LB Michael Wilhoite and the other by CB Kenneth Acker.

As a team, the 49ers rushed for only 65 yards, their lowest total for the season. RB Carlos Hyde ended the game with 55 rushing yards. The other 10 were from Kaepernick.

The 49ers will now enter a short week as they prepare to face their division rival, the Seattle Seahawks, on Thursday night at Levi's Stadium.
