On a play that pretty much summarizes the 49ers' season so far, QB Colin Kaepernick didn't see uncovered WR Torrey Smith. Making matters worse is that he was uncovered prior to the ball being snapped, waved his arms and jumped up and down to get the attention of his quarterback, and WR Jerome Simpson also became uncovered just prior to the ball being snapped.

The 49ers were plagued by injuries against the Rams. RB Reggie Bush (knee), S LJ McCray (knee), TE Garrett Celek (concussion), RB Mike Davis (hand), CB Kenneth Reaser (ankle), and P Bradley Pinion (calf) all left the game with injuries.
CB Kenneth Acker also briefly left the game, but returned to the field. He is getting X-rays for a possible rib injury.
WR Anquan Boldin (hamstring) and RB Carlos Hyde (foot) were both inactive with injuries. That left lone Kendall Gaskins to finish the game as the team's lone healthy running back. Gaskins had only six yards on five carries. On Saturday, Gaskins was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad. To make room for him, the team released former Australian rugby league star, RB Jarryd Hayne.
Should Hayne clear waivers, he will likely be re-signed on Monday.
Rams RB Todd Gurley rushed for his fourth straight 100+ yard game as his phenomenal rookie season continues. He finished the game with 133 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. Rams QB Nick Foles was 14 of 23 for 191 yards and a touchdown. WR Tavon Austin was just two yards short of a 100-yard game on just four receptions. As a whole, the Rams amassed 388 total net yards against the 49ers.
The 49ers will now begin to prepare for a home game against the visiting Atlanta Falcons at Levi's Stadium on Sunday, November 8.
