At the time of the press conference, there was no update on the MRI results for RB Reggie Bush. It is feared by many that Bush may have a torn ACL after slipping on the sideline concrete and the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. He was seen using crutches in the locker room following the 49ers' 27-6 loss.
There is no update yet on RB Mike Davis. He is getting an MRI on his hand, which is feared to be broken. TE Garrett Celek is going through the concussion protocol this week.
When asked if Colin Kaepernick was the starting quarterback, Tomsula said, "We are evaluating everything right now." However, he stated repeatedly that he will not speak on the Kaepernick situation or personnel in general. "Colin didn't play good enough and neither did the team. The San Francisco 49ers did not play good enough," said Tomsula.
Earlier today, it was reported that RB Ben Tate would work out for the team tomorrow. Again, since this involved personnel, Tomsula would not speak about any workouts.
When asked how the players are in the locker room, he said, "I think the locker room is good. I think it is very good." Tomsula went on to say, "We're all going through a storm together."
During the offseason, the team repeatedly stated that they are not in a rebuilding mode. Tomsula said "I'm not into the labels. I'm not into any of that" when asked if that belief has changed. He also stated that he is still comfortable with his coordinators and coaching staff.
A full transcript, audio, and video will be available later today.
The 49ers are preparing for a home game on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
