According to Ryan Sakamoto ‏of NinerFans.com, San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde may need surgery to repair the stress fracture in his foot. There could be a 4 to 6 week recovery time, forcing the team to possibly place the running back on IR and ending his season.

Hyde missed his first game of the season on Sunday. He has been playing on his injured foot for much of the season.

Hyde has 470 yards and three touchdowns on 115 carries this season – his first as a starter in the NFL. He also has 11 receptions for 53 yards. He was drafted by the 49ers in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Earlier today, RB Shaun Draughn agreed to terms with 49ers.
