Gabbert made his first start for the 49ers on Sunday and led the team to a 17-16 upset victory over the Atlanta Falcons at Levi's Stadium.
The Falcons defense went into the game ranked 24th in the league against the pass. Gabbert finished the game 15 of 25 for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. The victory was just Gabbert's sixth of his career. He would also add 32 rushing yards on nine carries.
Earlier today, head coach Jim Tomsula would not announce a starting quarterback until he had a chance to talk to Gabbert and Colin Kaepernick, who last week was benched in favor of the former.
