There were a couple of small transactions today. The San Francisco 49ers signed TE Jamie Childers to the practice squad. The team also released LB Kevin Snyder (Rutgers), who was signed to the practice squad on November 24. Snyder had joined the practice squad on the same day the team brought in QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson.

DL Kaleb Ramsey has been reinstated to the practice squad after serving a four game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances.

Childers' signing comes after an injury to TE Garrett Celek in Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Celek, who was carted off the field at Levi's Stadium, suffered an ankle injury and had an MRI on Monday.

Childers entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis Rams in 2012 before being released prior to the regular season. He then joined the New York Giants at the start of the 2013 offseason and was released prior to the start of the regular season. Since then, he has spent time with the Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers. The Panthers placed Childers on the Injured Reserve List in August and then released.

Snyder signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in May of 2015. He was placed on the Injured Reserve List on August 25 and later waived by Detroit on October 13.
