According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, the San Francisco 49ers have met with former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly for the vacant head coaching job.

The team has also met with Buffalo Bills assistant head coach and running backs coach Anthony Lynn.

Saints head coach Sean Payton, who was reportedly a target of the 49ers, has decided to remain in New Orleans.

The team is also expected to pursue Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson and has reportedly been having discussions with former Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan.

Jackson and the Bengals are currently in the playoffs.

The 49ers also requested to interview Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter. However, the Buccaneers have not yet granted that request and Koetter is expected to be a candidate for their own head coaching vacancy.

Following Sunday's season finale victory over the St. Louis Rams, then 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula was fired.
