According to ESPN's Adam Caplan, the San Francisco 49ers have hired Dana Bible as a senior advisor under new head coach Chip Kelly's staff.

Bible and Kelly are close friends and have often bounced ideas off of each other in the past. "Kelly and Dana Bible liked to talk football. Their conversations always drifted toward X's and O's, and the animated, Northeastern-bred coaches would often act out the plays they crafted in their heads," said a Philly.com article by Jeff McLane in September of 2015.

Bible has experience as a college assistant and NFL coordinator. He served as the quarterbacks coach for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1990 until 1992 and was the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1998. Among the college ranks, Bible served as the offensive coordinator at Boston College, Miami of Ohio, NC State, and Stanford. He was even the interim head coach for NC State in 2012.

Bible has coached a few prominent names throughout his career, most notably Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, who he coached at Boston College.
