Earlier this month, USA Today's Jon Ledyard did a detailed analysis of Goodson that is worth a read. In the analysis, he had this to say about the former Tiger.
"One of the true leaders of Clemson's dominant defensive unit this past season, linebacker B.J. Goodson has been unheralded throughout the pre-draft process, but a strong combine performance may finally have analysts' attention."
Goodson had a 4.69 40-time and benched 30 reps at the NFL Combine last month. He leaped 34.5 inches in the vertical test and 9 feet and 10 inches in the broad jump. His showing at the Combine was enough to impress evaluators in attendance.
Sakamoto also reports that the 49ers have been linked to a couple of possible day three wide receivers as well. They are Tulsa's Keyarris Garrett (6-4, 221 lbs) and Mississippi State's De'Runnya Wilson (6-5, 215lbs).
