Mitchell had 865 yards on 58 receptions and four touchdowns for the Bulldogs last season, starting every game.

NFL Media's Lance Zierlein had this to say about Mitchell in his draft profile:

Mitchell was hampered by injuries in the past and inconsistent quarterback play this year, but there is no doubting his ball skills and smoothness as a route runner. His speed is just average and he doesn't get as much separation as teams like underneath, but he's tough, can make contested catches and has the type of personal and football character that will have scouts pulling for him in their draft rooms. Mitchell will be a 24-year-old rookie.

NFL Media's Gil Brandt added the following about Mitchell at Georgia's pro day:

Wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell – 6-0, 197 – stood on his combine numbers. He's a very athletic guy and worked out well at the pro day.
