Adam Schefter of NFL.com is reporting the 49ers and Cleveland Browns have both contacted the Detroit Lions about trading for DE/DT Cory Redding

From NFL.com
Within the past 10 days, the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns have made overtures to the Lions to see what it would take to sign Redding, who has been absent from Detroit's minicamps.

However, the Lions maintain that Redding is untradeable -- the same term one GM used to describe Johnson. But it's not going to dissuade other teams from continuing to try.

As the draft creeps closer, the Lions could find themselves fielding more phone calls about the player who is unhappy about having the $6.2 million franchise tag slapped on him.

And ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that the 49ers have not contacted the Detroit Lions regarding a possible trade up for the no.2 spot in this Saturday's draft

A league source tells us that, despite published reports suggesting that the 49ers are the latest team to talk to the Lions about a trade for the No. 2 overall pick, there are and have been no discussions between these two teams.
