The following is some information on McManis, as provided by the 49ers.
McManis (6-1, 225) appeared in 47 games and registered 110 tackles, nine tackles for loss and three sacks during his four-year career at the University of Memphis (2012-15). In 2015, he appeared in 13 games and recorded 62 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks and one fumble recovery. In 2014, he saw action in 10 games and registered 20 tackles, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. His sophomore season, he appeared in 12 games and had one tackle. As a freshman in 2012, he played in 12 games and registered 27 tackles, 2.5 TFLs and one interception.
During his pro day, McManis ran the 40 in 4.68 seconds, benched 21 reps, and a vertical jump of 34 1/2 inches and a broad jump of 123 inches, and completed the 20-yard shuttle in 4.39 seconds and the 3-cone drill in 7.14 seconds.
McManis played outside linebacker at Memphis. However, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area offers the following insight.
McManis' size (6 foot 1, 225 pounds) might make him a better fit at inside linebacker, where the 49ers have a thin group that includes only NaVorro Bowman, Michael Wilhoite, Gerald Hodges, Shayne Skov and Nick Bellore.
Anderson's time with the 49ers did not last long. He was signed by the team on May 6 as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford.
