"He really does and Blaine Gabbert is on his way to resurrecting his career just based on the work he put in not just this offseason but on the field last year," answered Rapoport. "If you ask the public – the general public – about Blaine Gabbert, most people would just shrug and not have an opinion because he came into Jacksonville, he didn't do much and then he sort of disappeared from consciousness but begin this season the way things are going for Blaine Gabbert and that might change drastically.
"He certainly seems to be the favorite inside that organization, but it is worth nothing that Chip Kelly still has an affinity for Colin Kaepernick, who couldn't do much of anything this offseason. Kaepernick will have a very real chance to win the starting quarterback job, but at this point, it's Gabbert in the driver seat."
