How much weight did he lose? Davis stated that his weight was as high as 370 pounds at one point. He is now at 332 pounds. "I don't know how I played at that weight either," said Davis.
His teammates appeared happy to have him back with the team. "I'm excited he's able to be back with the football team and just speaking with him for the last two days now, he's real excited to be back here too," said OT Joe Staley. "Just seeing the shape he came back in, the strength, ready to go, mentally focused."

"It was great to see him back. He looks good. He looks ready to go," said QB Colin Kaepernick regarding Davis.
Head coach Chip Kelly stated earlier on Sunday that Davis would start at the bottom of the depth chart because he has not had the offseason reps or the time with the playbook that others have had. He ended up working with the third-team offense during practice according to Chris Biderman of Niners Wire. Trent Brown worked with the first-team while rookie John Theus worked with the second-team. Erik Pears, who started at right tackle last season, worked at left tackle with the second-team today.
While speaking to the media, Davis declined to discuss how much money he had to give back to the 49ers upon his retirement. "I don't want to make people sick," said Davis.
