Kaepernick was asked how it's been having Chip Kelly as his new head coach and his experience with his offense. "It's great. Chip brings a lot of energy, a lot of intensity to the offense and it's exciting, answered Kaepernick. "I mean, what he's doing with the offense has a lot of similar philosophies with what I did in college with a more developed passing game. So for me it's exciting because I know what an offense like this is capable of especially with the talents that I have. I feel at home out there and I'm excited."

Robinson then asked Kaepernick about the quarterback competition. "It's always a competition, but as soon as you step on the field, it doesn't matter if they tell you someone is behind you or not. It's a competition and every day I step out here, I compete. That's what we train to do and I'm going to continue to do that."
"I have a great relationship with my teammates," continued Kaepernick. "I think they'd be the best ones to speak to on that. As far as critics and people like that, it's very convenient when you have unnamed sources saying things. They don't have to show their face and they don't have to show where they're coming from. Personally – and you'd be better off asking my teammates what our relationship is like – but I feel like I have a great relationship with everybody."
Robinson asked how this version of Kaepernick is going to be different from previous versions. "More developed in every aspect," answered Kaepernick. "From (the) football field, to my personal life, to how I carry myself."
Kaepernick was then asked if this is his team. "We'll let Chip decide that," he answered.
