The San Francisco 49ers coaching staff has had no discussions about moving OT Anthony Davis to guard, something that was strangely brought up on Sunday by the announcers during the local broadcast of the game.

"We haven't had any discussions about that right now," said head coach Chip Kelly on Monday. "AD's getting solid at the tackle spot and again, we just played our first preseason game so we got a lot of ways to go. As we kind of look at the different combinations that are out there, still looking at AD at tackle."

"I think Anthony can play anywhere on an offensive line whether it be right tackle, left tackle, center, left guard, right guard," continued Kelly. "I think when you got someone 6-5, 330 pounds that moves like he moves, I think he can play any position along the offensive line."

Davis has been battling to regain his starting job at right tackle after returning from a year-long retirement. The man ahead of him is the bigger (6-8, 355) and younger (23 vs 26) Trent Brown, who has also been practicing well during training camp.
