All eyes will be on Kaepernick before kickoff. The quarterback has been at the center of a controversy that started when he decided to sit during the pre-game National Anthem. He has been doing so for all of preseason, but it was less obvious during the team's first two exhibition games because Kaepernick did not play nor was he in uniform for those games.
Kaepernick missed the two first preseason games with a muscle issue in his throwing arm – an injury that forced him to miss a portion of training camp as well.
The following players are inactive for tonight's game:
DE Arik Armstead
LB Nick Bellore
QB Blaine Gabbert
WR Quinton Dial
DE Glenn Dorsey
RB Carlos Hyde
CB Keith Reaser
OT Joe Staley
OT John Theus
WR Bryce Treggs
Kickoff is at 7:00 PM PT at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
