The San Francisco 49ers announced today that they have re-signed RB DuJuan Harris, who was released on Monday prior to the team's game against the Los Angeles Rams. To make room for him, they have released WR Chris Harper who was promoted from the practice squad on Monday to replace Harris.

Harris was released by the 49ers on September 3 during the team's final roster cuts. He was re-signed days later on September 5 before being released again on Monday. Harper originally signed on the 49ers practice squad on September 5.

Harris was a late-season addition by the 49ers in 2015. He rushed for 140 yards on 27 carries in the final two games of the season.

Harper joined the NFL with the New England Patriots when he was signed as an undrafted free agent in May of 2015. He started on their practice squad, but was later elevated to the active roster and appeared in five games. He only had one reception for six yards through five appearances.
