Turnovers


On the first possession of the game, S Antoine Bethea intercepted Panthers QB Cam Newton off a tipped pass by LB NaVorro Bowman. It marked Bethea's 1st interception of the season, 19th of his career, and his 1st since 12/20/14 vs. San Diego.

Bethea's forced fumble by Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker marked his 7th career forder fumble and first since 9/28/14 vs. Philadelphia.

Bethea is the first member of the 49ers to record an interception and forced fumble in the same game since he accomplished the feat on 9/28/14 vs. Philadelphia.

LB Gerald Hodges registered a strip-sack of Panthers QB Cam Newton. It marked Hodges' first full sack and forced fumble of his career. LB Eli Harold recovered the Newton fumble, the 2nd of his career.

Through the first two games of 2016, San Francisco has forced 6 opponent turnovers. Their 6 turnovers in Weeks 1-2 are the most to start a season for the 49ers since 2003.

The 49ers scored 20 of their 27 points off of Carolina turnovers. Through two weeks, they have scored 34 points off of opponent turnovers.


Gabbert's Touchdown Streak


QB Blaine Gabbert has thrown a touchdown in each game that he has appeared in as a member of the 49ers (11 consecutive games).

McDonald's Record Touchdown


TE Vance McDonald scored on a career-long 75-yard touchdown reception in the 4th quarter. It was his 2nd consecutive game with a touchdown and marked the longest reception by a tIght end in 49ers franchise history.
