San Francisco 49ers CB Jimmie Ward suffered a quadriceps strain during the team's loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. He is week-to-week. According to 49ers defensive coordinator Jim O'Neil, who will replace Ward will be determined by which player looks better in practice this week.

Ward went down in the second quarter of the game. It was a non-contact injury that saw Ward grabbing his right leg. He walked off of the field with the assistance of two trainers and was replaced by Keith Reaser.

Ward has been the 49ers' top rated cornerback this season per advanced statistics site Pro Football Focus. He was also the 49ers' highest rated defensive back, which includes safeties, last season.
