"You are going to hear a ton about San Francisco 49ers coach Chip Kelly returning to college football in the coming weeks," said Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports this week.

The article fueled speculation that college programs, maybe even his former employer, Oregon, might be potential opportunities for Kelly after this season.

Chip Kelly met with the media today and was asked if he was committed to staying with the team beyond this season. "Unless the media has an opportunity for me somewhere," Kelly said jokingly. "I'll always explore those opportunities. But yeah, I'm not going anywhere."

"Kelly's offense continues to be ridiculed by his peers in the NFL, and several coaches I spoke to expect him to hit the eject seat button after this season and return to college before his stock continues to drop given the horrible roster he has in San Francisco," La Canfora said within his article.

The 49ers have lost five straight games since their season opening victory over the Los Angeles Rams. It is the franchise's first five-game losing streak since 2010.

The 49ers face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday before entering their bye week.
