"I'm not worried at all," Smith said. "I think you see these conversations pop up during the bye week every year. Trades don't happen that often in the NFL in the middle of the season anyways. I mean, I don't know. I think if there was something legitimate, then I would probably know more than I know. But there's also times where that happens and you don't know a thing. I'm not really worried about it. If there was something that was going on, then I'm sure Trent would call my phone or Drew or whoever."
"You see things all of the time where you know it's not real or it's a smoke signal or different things may happen," Smith continued. "I don't know. I'm not really worried about it. I guess I'll be ready when we come back."

Today, it was reported that Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson stated that there was no legitimacy to the recent wide receiver trade rumors and that he is happy with the players currently on the team.
On Monday, news of a potential trade of the 49ers receiver broke when Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that multiple teams had shown interest in Smith. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk then reported that one interested team was Philadelphia. Although, Florio noted that no deal is imminent. Later that day, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area debunked the rumors stating that, according to a league source, the 49ers were not shopping Smith.
"A league source told CSNBayArea.com the 49ers are neither shopping Smith nor is a trade anticipated," wrote Maiocco.
