San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Pierre Garçon is on injured reserve with a neck injury. Rookie Trent Taylor broke a rib on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals and is not expected to return until sometime after the bye week. The list of available receivers – and players for that matter – is dwindling for the 49ers, so the team is looking at all of their options.
The Houston Chronicle reports that undrafted free agent wide receiver Domonique Young worked out for the 49ers on Tuesday. He played college football at Purdue and suffered a gruesome knee injury last October. During an overtime victory at Illinois, Young was carted off the field after sustaining a torn LCL, PCL, and ACL.
"Jacked it all up," Young said of the injury last year.
Young (6-3, 220) was invited to participate in the New York Jets' rookie minicamp in May. In 2016, Young had 29 receptions for 338 yards and a touchdown through five games. The previous season, he had 21 receptions for 276 yards and a touchdown along with a rushing score through eight games.
