Jerry Rice is typically a guest every Monday morning on 95.7 The Game. He just couldn't wait until next week, though. The Hall of Fame receiver made an impromptu call to the "Joe, Lo, and Dibs" show on Tuesday morning to discuss the San Francisco 49ers' heartbreaking 33-30 loss to the Green Bay Packers the night before.
Rice made his case on Monday morning on why his former team should try to acquire Amari Cooper after Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported over the weekend that the Oakland Raiders might be shopping the wide receiver. He brought it up again on Tuesday.
"I just felt like I needed to let the fans know this team is getting better," Rice said. "They're getting better, but they've got to be able to close. Another thing, Amari Cooper, I'm thinking we need another guy instead of just Marquise Goodwin. We need another guy on the opposite side that's really going to help him out.
"If we can get that additional guy that's got a lot of fire in him, a guy that can be that playmaker — I'm not saying anything against Pierre Garçon or anything like that, but I'm not seeing the separation. I'm not seeing the big plays. If we can get a guy like Amari Cooper, I think he's going to be that added dimension that we need to get to the next level."

While there have been no reports of the 49ers being interested in making a trade for Cooper, Rice sounded convinced on Monday morning that San Francisco might at least inquire about the receiver.
"We might get Amari Cooper from the Raiders," Rice said while previewing 49ers versus Packers and discussing Garçon's struggles.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported on Monday that the Raiders, who have not openly admitted to shopping Cooper, have asked for a first-round pick in exchange for the receiver. Most within the media see that particular asking price as unrealistic.
