The San Francisco 49ers won't be quite as shorthanded against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8 as they were a week ago against the Los Angeles Rams.

Cornerback Richard Sherman (calf) is active and looks to play, and the Niners offense will have running back Matt Breida (ankle) active as well. Rookie wide receiver Dante Pettis (knee) makes his return after suffering his injury on a punt return against the Los Angeles Chargers back in Week 4.

That said, head coach Kyle Shanahan's squad will be down a wide receiver, Pierre Garçon (knee), and will be without starting center Weston Richburg (knee). Here's the full list of San Francisco inactives for their NFC West road contest in Arizona:

  • QB Tom Savage
  • WR Pierre Garçon
  • DB Greg Mabin
  • C Weston Richburg
  • DT Jullian Taylor
  • OT Shon Coleman
  • DT D.J. Jones

Garçon was downgraded to OUT earlier this week, so that's not much of a surprise. But Richburg's injury is significant. This will mark the first time in 2018 Richburg has missed a start. The 49ers have two options to replace him at center, Mike Person and second-year pro Erik Magnuson. Person, who has started this year at right guard, also doubles as a center. But if the Niners want to, they can keep him at guard and insert Magnuson in at Richburg's spot.

Offensive guard Joshua Garnett is also active for the contest.

The 49ers and Cardinals kick off on Oct. 28 at 4:25 p.m. ET from University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
