In a bit of a shocker, the Washington Redskins have claimed former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster off of waivers, according to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN. The claiming team was initially identified as the Cleveland Browns but then corrected to Washington by Schefter.
Former 49ers' LB Reuben Foster was claimed by the Washington Redskins, per source.
Now the question becomes whether or when the league will suspend him.

Foster is once again facing legal troubles after being arrested on suspicion of domestic violence on Saturday night at the team hotel in Tampa, Florida on the eve of the 49ers' game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. San Francisco announced on Sunday morning that it was releasing Foster, which became official on Monday afternoon.
Foster faced a felony charge of domestic violence after an arrest in February, but the judge ultimately decided there was insufficient evidence to proceed with the case against Foster after the alleged victim, ex-girlfriend Elissa Ennis, testified that the charges against the linebacker were based on her lies.
Ennis is once again the alleged victim in the most recent incident.

The 49ers made Foster the No. 31 overall draft pick out of Alabama in 2017. He registered 72 combined tackles and a pass defensed through 10 game appearances in 2017 and recorded 29 combined tackles with a pass defensed through six games this season.
The good news for San Francisco is that Washington will assume Foster's upcoming salaries and cap hits through 2020.
