The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 14 contest against the Denver Broncos on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

In case you missed the earlier news, wide receiver Marquise Goodwin returned to the team on Monday after a lengthy excused absence to deal with a personal matter. He practiced on Wednesday, and head coach Kyle Shanahan expects his starting wideout to play against Denver.

"I'm just happy that he's doing better, good enough to be back in the building," Shanahan told reporters before Wednesday's practice. "I just got to see him a little bit in meetings today, so we'll see him out at practice today, see where he's at, how he looks, and we'll decide as the week goes."

Wednesday injury notes:

  • Shanahan has ruled out both running back Matt Breida and safety Jaquiski Tartt against the Broncos.
  • Running back Jeff Wilson, who received significant playing time against Seattle, is dealing with a foot injury but did practice.
  • Wide receiver Pierre Garçon, who has missed each of the 49ers' past three games and four of the past five, participated in Wednesday's practice but remained limited. Garçon was limited during each practice last week and eventually ruled out against Seattle.
  • Linebacker Dekoda Watson did not practice. Shanahan said on Monday that he would be placed on injured reserve after suffering a torn calf against Seattle.
  • Guard Joshua Garnett and safety D.J. Reed returned to practice.

Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Broncos, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
