Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported on Friday that the Denver Broncos requested to interview San Francisco 49ers quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello for their offensive coordinator position as part of head coach Vic Fangio's staff.
Then there was a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN stating that the 49ers denied the request.
It looks like the interview could be back on. Mike Klis of 9News in Denver, a typically reliable source of Broncos information, is reporting the 49ers will allow the interview to move forward and that it will take place on Monday.

"He is interviewing for the Broncos' offensive coordinator position that remained open after Gary Kubiak walked away because of disagreements regarding assistant coaches and overall scheme," writes Klis.
Scangarello finished his second season as part of head coach Kyle Shanahan's staff in San Francisco. He served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Wagner College before joining the 49ers.
"The 49ers initially blocked the Broncos' attempt to interview Scangarello, but the two sides did eventually come to an agreement," Klis continues. "There is no guarantee Scangarello will get the Broncos' offensive coordinator position. Fangio will make the decision after interview[ing] Scangarello at Broncos' headquarters today."
The 49ers have already blocked requests to interview wide receivers/passing game coordinator Mike LaFleur and run-game coordinator Mike McDaniel.
While 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said on December 31 that he would like to keep his staff together, the team has since reportedly fired defensive line coach Jeff Zgonina, head strength and conditioning coach Ray Wright, and long-time head athletic trainer Jeff Ferguson.
Defensive backs coach Jeff Hafley left the 49ers to become the co-defensive coordinator of Ohio State's football team.
