Adrian Colbert was seen with Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown during the weekend of Super Bowl 53. It looks like the San Francisco 49ers safety has moved his recruiting efforts to the defensive side of the ball and has a veteran he'd like to add to the defensive backs room in his sights.

Colbert tweeted out a photo of Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas during his time at the University of Texas. To make things a bit more clear, he added three emoticons that spell out exactly what he has in mind — a goat, an airplane taking off, and the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Texas Longhorns play football in Austin, Texas and that's where Thomas is these days. He and his wife even enrolled their children in the Austin school district this week. Many saw that as a sign to connect the dots from Thomas to the Dallas Cowboys, the team he grew up cheering and has expressed interest in playing for in the past.

Colbert had an opportunity to train with and learn from Thomas last offseason.

Cornerback Richard Sherman, who is friends with Thomas, said in December that he would do his part of recruiting Thomas to the 49ers and expects the team to pursue the safety.

"Would I love to play with Earl Thomas III? Sure," Sherman said. "I would love to. I'd love to have him back in the locker room. But I'm sure he'll have a plethora of opportunities, but I'm sure we're going to throw our hat in the ring."

The 49ers freed up about $5 million in salary cap space on Wednesday with the release of offensive lineman Garry Gilliam. The team is expected to have over $65 million available when free agency kicks off on March 13 and could have even more if it parts ways with other high-priced veterans along the way.

Former 49ers cornerback Eric Davis tweeted out on Tuesday that he would love to see Thomas, along with wide receiver Antonio Brown, in San Francisco. Sherman was a fan of the idea.

Oh, and while reading the replies to Colbert's tweet, I found the following and just had to share.
