OddsShark released odds (via BetOnline) on where wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will play in 2019. The odds favor that the veteran Pro Bowl receiver will stay put and continue playing for the New York Giants. Of course, if he is destined to go elsewhere, oddsmakers believe it will be with the San Francisco 49ers.
Odds for what team @obj will be on for Week 1 of the 2019 NFL regular season (BetOnline):
Giants -110
— OddsShark (@OddsShark) February 14, 2019
49ers +400
Raiders +700
Dolphins +800
Steelers +900
Cardinals +1000
Jets +1200
Patriots +2500
Bills +2500
Cowboys +2500
Browns +2500
Bears +2500 https://t.co/0HwGeSfJv8
By comparison, the 49ers are the top landing spot for Antonio Brown, according to oddsmakers. San Francisco's odds are better than Brown's current team, the Steelers, who have openly admitted a willingness to part ways with their receiver. Brown has already requested a trade, so it looks like that relationship is over.
Bill Barnwell of ESPN doesn't envision Beckham going anywhere. He joined KNBR on Monday and discussed the Giants receiver.
"I think the Giants are still where he stays," Barnwell said on the "Gary and Larry" show. "$16 million in dead money for them next year if they trade Odell Beckham. Again, I just don't see the historical evidence for it.
"Odell Beckham is a good teammate. I think when people contrast him to Antonio Brown, people in that locker room love Odell Beckham. He works super hard. He's there frequently. Can he be temperamental during games? Of course, but it's not like he's a bad teammate. Even to an extent that people would say Antonio Brown in some cases could be a bad teammate.
"I don't buy that he's moving this offseason. I could be wrong, certainly, but I think he's going to stay with the Giants."
And if he didn't?
"I think it would take two first-round picks for the Giants to [trade him]," Barnwell continued.
He goes on to explain that trading Beckham doesn't make much sense because the Giants need all the help they can get on offense.
