Each week leading to the draft, we'll look at a collection of mock drafts from various sources and compile the list of the top prospects projected to head to the 49ers.

We surveyed 75 online mock drafts this week and tallied which prospects are the most popular choices for the San Francisco 49ers, who currently own the No. 2 overall pick in this month's draft. The mock drafts include big-name sites like ESPN and NFL.com to smaller independent sites.

Former Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa, who is visiting with the 49ers on Wednesday and Thursday, remains as the overwhelming favorite to become the No. 2 overall pick on April 25. Over 77 percent of mock drafts now have Bosa headed to Santa Clara.

Trailing a distant second and third are former Alabama defensive lineman Quinnen Williams and former Kentucky linebacker Josh Allen.

49ers' Nick Sorensen excited for Talanoa Hufanga's eventual return

By David Bonilla
May 13

The San Francisco 49ers' defense suffered a devastating blow in November when safety Talanoa Hufanga went down with a season-ending ACL injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rookie Ji'Ayir Brown filled in for the injured All-Pro, whose absence was felt among his teammates. All signs point toward Hufanga's recovery being on schedule, with the safety even eyeing a potential return some time during training camp. "It's always scary coming back from an ACL, but once you come back, in this day and age, it's usually okay," head coach Kyle Shanahan said in March. "[We] expect to get him some time in training camp, so that should be all right." Last week, Nick
