There were ten early games on Sunday, including the San Francisco 49ers' 41-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The Rookie Performance of the Day for those games, presented by Verizon, went to 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who finished with five receptions for 87 yards and his first career NFL touchdown, which came on a three-yard pass from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, against the Bengals.
The 49ers made Samuel a second-round pick out of South Carolina in April. He has eight catches for 104 yards with a touchdown so far this season and has rushed the football twice for seven yards.
Samuel's receiving yards total leads all 49ers wide receivers. Only tight end George Kittle has more (108).
The 49ers are 2-0 and will face the Pittsburgh Steelers next weekend in their first game of the season at Levi's Stadium.
