San Francisco 49ers defensive linemen Dee Ford and Arik Armstead earned the top Pro Football Focus grades from the team's 20-7 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Ford's grade was the best from both squads in the matchup.
Ford officially finished the game with four combined tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.
Dee Ford earned a whopping 94.9 overall grade yesterday. He had two sacks (we count half sacks as full ones) and three hurries in 19 pass rushes as well as a forced fumble. #49ers

The defense played some dominant football against the Rams, holding the opposing offense to a season-low 157 total yards. Rams quarterback Jared Goff earned his lowest PFF grade (50.2) of the season and his lowest since that dreadful performance against the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl (49.1).
Usually, we start by listing the top grades on offense, but in honor of the defense's impressive performance, we're going to switch it up this week.
Below are the five 49ers players on defense who earned PFF's top grades against the Rams.
- Dee Ford, DE (94.9)
- Arik Armstead, DL (90.3)
- Jimmie Ward, DB (89.8)
- Solomon Thomas, DL (77.8)
- Nick Bosa, DE (71.3)
Below are the five 49ers players on offense with PFF's top grades in the same game. For those who were worried about right tackle Mike McGlinchey's replacement, Daniel Brunskill, the offensive lineman was among the top five.
- George Kittle, TE (85.4)
- Matt Breida, RB (76.0)
- Daniel Brunskill, RT (75.2)
- Dante Pettis, WR (69.3)
- Levine Toilolo, TE (67.9)
