The San Francisco 49ers are among the teams to make a call about Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, according to Benjamin Allbright, an NFL insider and radio host in the Denver area. The other teams are the New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, and potentially others.
All the teams received the same response, per the report. Sanders, a 32-year-old two-time Pro Bowl selection, is not currently available.
Several teams have called about Emmanuel Sanders. Patriots, Packers, Niners, Saints, etc.
It's unknown how serious San Francisco was about Sanders. 49ers general manager John Lynch and Broncos general manager John Elway are close friends and have exchanged players with one another in the past.
The Pittsburgh Steelers made Sanders a third-round selection out of SMU in 2010. He has registered 25 receptions for 307 yards with two touchdowns through six starts this season. Sanders has caught 560 passes for 7,331 yards with 39 touchdowns through his 10 NFL seasons.
