The Arizona Cardinals will wear their all-black uniforms on Thursday night when they host the undefeated San Francisco 49ers. It will be the home team's first primetime game of the season.
Rookie quarterback Kyler Murray spoke with reporters on Monday, as the two teams prepare for each other on a short week.
"It should be fun, wearing all black, Thursday night, real first primetime game for us," Murray said. "Just really trying to go out there and obviously put on a show, and protect home."
Murray was asked about the dominant 49ers defense he will face.
"They're obviously a great defense," he responded. "But again, we feel like if we execute, we'll be fine."
The Cardinals (3-4-1) are coming off of a 31-9 loss to the impressive New Orleans Saints on Sunday while the 49ers (7-0) beat the red-hot Carolina Panthers 51-13. Arizona had, however, won its three previous games.
One storyline from Thursday's game will be Murray, the No. 1 overall pick in April's draft, going against 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa, the No. 2 overall pick.
"I met Nick," Murray told reporters. "We're pretty cool. Looking forward to playing him on Thursday, for sure."
Murray was asked if he saw Bosa's interception against the Panthers, which was in addition to his three sacks in the game.
"He's a freak," Murray responded. "He's a good player, for sure. I'll have to keep my head on a swivel, for sure, on Thursday."
