The virtual interviews with draft prospects continue as NFL teams practice social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic sweeping through the world. The 2020 NFL Draft will continue as scheduled, although with an altered format. It won't be the spectacle is typically is, with the massive event planned for Las Vegas now canceled. While the draft will still be televised, it will likely feature a heavy online video format with many speaking from their homes.
The San Francisco 49ers continue with their work. The team recently spoke with two Washington prospects, tight end Hunter Bryant and running back Salvon Ahmed, over FaceTime, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Bryant caught 52 passes for 825 receiving yards with three touchdowns through 12 games as a junior in 2019.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot-2 and 248-pound Bryant had a 40-time of 4.74 seconds, a vertical jump of 32.5 inches, a broad jump of 115 inches, completed the three-cone drill in 78 seconds, 23 reps in the bench press, and a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.46 seconds. Other measurables for Bryant include an arm length of 32 inches and hands that measure 10 3/8 inches.
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com, who compares Bryant to Jordan Reed, wrote the following about Bryant within his scouting report:
He will get the matchup-tight-end moniker, but scouts feel like he's more of a big slot receiver in the pros. He doesn't have ideal size or determination as a blocker, but he has sticky hands with the acceleration to work past linebackers and threaten seams. He's a straight-line mover who gets bogged down in and out of breaks. He has playmaking ability but needs linear routes that allow him to keep moving on all three levels. Bryant is a scheme-dependent pass-catcher with a higher ceiling, but lower floor and a history of knee injuries that will need clearance by NFL medical staffs.
Ahmed carried the football 188 times for 1,020 rushing yards with 11 touchdowns as a senior in 2019.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 5-foot-11 and 197-pound Ahmed had a 40-time of 4.62 seconds, a vertical jump of 34.5 inches, and a broad jump of 120 inches. Other measurables for Ahmed include an arm length of 29 1/4 inches and hands that measure 8 3/4 inches.
Zierlein wrote the following about Ahmed within his scouting report:
Scatback who is light on his feet but suffers from a debilitating lack of vision and decisiveness that prevents him from reaching his athletic potential as a runner. Ahmed lacks feel for blocking scheme and run-lane development, but even struggled to see it and hit the gas when clear points of entry were available. He can hit a daily goal with the amount of steps he uses on each carry, but it prevents him from being able to plant and go with much-needed efficiency. He's athletic with open-field speed, but leaves too many chunk plays out on the field and faces an uphill battle to make a team.
