San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch spoke with reporters on Monday via Zoom. He shared that there was some concern surrounding the health of center Weston Richburg, who suffered a torn patellar tendon during Week 14 and landed on injured reserve on December 11.
The good news is that Lynch added that despite being impacted by the current shelter-in-place order, Richburg is "on target" to be ready for training camp -- whenever that takes place.
"Weston's doing very well," Lynch said. "Probably not as close as last year. He's on target, I should say, to be ready to play if the season kicks off at the normal time. He's on target for that. Last year it was deep into training camp. I think he'll be ready for training camp. That's our hope."
"Should be back in training camp," Richburg said. "I'll miss the offseason stuff, but training camp should be a go."
The 49ers signed Richburg to a five-year deal on March 14, 2018. He started 15 games at center during the ensuing season and all 13 this past year before his injury.
