Are you still worried about rookie Brandon Aiyuk's seemingly pedestrian 40-time at the NFL Scouting Combine? Don't be. The San Francisco 49ers receiver can reportedly hit top speeds that rival some of the fastest recorded times in the NFL.
Aiyuk was dealing with a core-muscle injury in February and has since undergone surgery to repair the damage.
Matt Barrows of The Athletic recently reported that a GPS tracker in the receiver's shoulder pads at Arizona State last season, at one point, recorded a running speed of 21.97 mph.
To put that into perspective, only three NFL players ran faster speeds last season. They are former 49ers running back Matt Breida, who hit 22.3 mph on an 83-yard touchdown run during Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (22.23 mph in Week 2), and Cincinnati Bengals safety Brandon Wilson (22.03 in Week 6).
So, how is Aiyuk doing after his early-April surgery? He's back in the 21 mph range on the treadmill, according to a video of the receiver showing his offseason workout regimen. Our friends over at @TheSFNiners shared the video.
#49ers 1st round draft pick @THE2ERA got up to 21 MPH during treadmill training, per his workout video.

San Francisco selected Aiyuk with the No. 25 overall pick in April. He recorded 98 receptions for 1,666 yards with 11 touchdowns in two seasons with the Sun Devils after transferring from Sierra College.
