According to Nick Wagoner of ESPN, Trent Williams returned to practice on Thursday after receiving Wednesday off to rest his injured ankle. The San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle suffered the injury during Sunday night's win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Williams received further tests this week to determine the severity of the injury. On Wednesday, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that the results showed no broken bones nor was the injury a high-ankle sprain. That is good news for the 49ers' veteran offensive lineman.
Here are some other notes from 49ers beat writers at the team facility. They are only allowed to view the first few minutes of practice and aren't permitted to observe team drills.
- Safety Jaquiski Tartt (groin), running back Raheem Mostert (ankle), and linebacker Kwon Alexander (ankle) did not appear to practice. Mostert and Alexander are expected to miss significant time.
- Cornerback Dontae Johnson (groin) and running back Jeff Wilson (calf), who were limited on Wednesday, are participating again.
Also for #49ers during early portion of practice open to media: no sign of SS Jaquiski Tartt (groin).
CB Dontae Johnson and RB Jeff Wilson Jr., who were listed as limited yesterday, are participating again on Thursday.
