The San Francisco 49ers could be getting some reinforcements before the team's matchup with the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on November 15. Head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked on Friday about the possibility of getting running back Raheem Mostert, wide receiver Deebo Samuel, and offensive lineman Ben Garland back in time for the game.
The 49ers have today off and will not reconvene at the team facilities until Monday.
"Ben doesn't have a chance this week," Shanahan said, "but I do think Raheem and Deebo do. That's not for sure. I mean, I'm hoping for it. I know they've got a chance, but we'll get a good look at them on Monday, and hopefully, we can at least get them in, limited, for Wednesday."
The 49ers will also get back tackle Trent Williams and wide receivers Kendrick Bourne and Brandon Aiyuk. All three, along with Samuel, landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list after Bourne tested positive for the virus this week. All tests since then have been negative, paving the way for their return.
All three players missed Thursday night's game against the Green Bay Packers, who beat San Francisco 34-17.
Added Shanahan: "So just (possibly getting back) Deebo and Raheem with the injuries, and obviously excited to get Aiyuk, and Bourne, and Trent Williams back."
