At 1-13, and thanks to the New York Jets' first win of the season, the Jacksonville Jaguars are poised to earn the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, with the Jets and the Cincinnati Bengals owning the respective spots behind them.

The San Francisco 49ers were eliminated from playoff contention following their 41-33 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The team didn't even gain any ground in its projected draft status after the Cleveland Browns knocked off the New York Giants on Sunday night.

At 5-9, the 49ers are currently projected to select at No. 12 overall based on record and the strength-of-schedule from the entire 16-game schedule (not if the season ended today).

Below is the projected draft order through Week 15 and using the strength-of-schedule from the entire season. Only the top 18 spots are listed below as the remainder will be based on the outcome of the playoffs.

TEAM, RECORD, STRENGTH-OF-SCHEDULE

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars, 1-13, .556
  2. New York Jets, 1-13, .598
  3. Cincinnati Bengals, 3-10-1, .533
  4. Carolina Panthers, 4-10, .531
  5. Atlanta Falcons, 4-10, .536
  6. Miami Dolphins (via Houston Texans), 4-10, .551
  7. Philadelphia Eagles, 4-9-1, .529
  8. Dallas Cowboys, 5-9, .475
  9. Los Angeles Chargers, 5-9, .484
  10. New York Giants, 5-9, .502
  11. Detroit Lions, 5-9, .509
  12. San Francisco 49ers, 5-9, .547
  13. Denver Broncos, 5-9, .558
  14. Minnesota Vikings, 6-8, .504
  15. New England Patriots, 6-8, .522
  16. Chicago Bears, 7-7, .491
  17. Oakland Raiders, 7-7, .536
  18. Baltimore Ravens, 9-5, .507

Note: Updated to include the impact of Monday night's game result.

The following is a list of the potential eight selections the 49ers might own next year before compensatory picks are factored in. The word "potential" is being used because the fifth-round selection obtained from the trade that sent Kwon Alexander to the New Orleans Saints is a conditional one based on the linebacker's playing time. It could turn into a 2022 draft pick, leaving San Francisco with seven selections.

The 49ers traded away their third-round pick for offensive tackle Trent Williams and obtained a seventh-round pick from the New York Jets during the trade for defensive end Jordan Willis.

  • 1st round, No. 12 overall
  • 2nd round, No. 43 overall
  • 4th round, No. 105 overall
  • 5th round, No. 136 overall
  • 5th round, No. 157 overall (from NO)
  • 6th round, No. 173 overall
  • 7th round, No. 194 overall (from NYJ)
  • 7th round, No. 204 overall

The 49ers could also gain a third-round pick should defensive coordinator Robert Saleh land a head coaching job.
